GFWC Awards
GFWC VA ND Level:
GFWC DWC has won awards at the GFWC VA and ND levels. Congratulations!!!
DWC received several club awards for our 2025 calendar-year projects, based on the 2025 reports we submitted in January 2026.
DWC members also received awards in the ND level Arts Contest in six different categories.
Club level awards:
- GFWC Signature Program – Domestic and Sexual Violence Awareness and Prevention: Best Single Project for a large club. The attached document doesn’t explain the specifics of the award, but our submission for the Signature Program included the Pinwheels for Prevention, “Purple Posy Project”, Anti-Human Trafficking Outreach, and the Forensic Nurse Examiner Program (my President’s Project combined with the International Day of Service) donations and projects.
- GFWC Signature Program; Best Overall Project: DWC was included as one of 8 clubs participating in the International Day of Service in September 2025. We collected and delivered items for the Forensic Nurse Examiner Program.
- Health and Wellness: Honorable Mention for support to the Heritage Village Assisted Living and Memory Care facility.
- Fundraising: Honorable Mention for the 2025 Author’s Tea.

GFWC VA level awards:
At the GFWC Virginia Annual Convention in Williamsburg, DWC members received the following awards:
DWC received the GFWC Affiliate Award for Canine Companions
Dominion Juniorettes received the Best Single Project-Large Division for Leadership
There were some extraordinary entries this year in the Art Contest, and DWC entered four items in four different categories. All of our entries were placed in their respective categories, and the awards are as follows:
Robin Clukey won First Place and Best of Show for her charcoal drawing
Amy Scala won first place for her acrylic painting
Barb Garland won second place for her crocheted afghan
Judy Umland won third place for her knitted shawl
