DWC Service Scholarship for High School Seniors

DWC offers scholarship to Battlefield High School seniors who show history of service to the community and a desire to continue these good works in the future.

DWC is pleased to announce selection of Katherine Clough as the winner of the 2020 Dominion Woman’s Club Service Scholarship.  Katherine’s history of service to the community reflects the volunteerism that our club values.   The scholarship is in the amount of $1000.

Katherine Clough volunteers because “it makes her heart happy.”

She is an active, highly dedicated Youth Envoy for the Migrant Heritage Commission (MHC), and the Ilocano Society of America (ISA) Miss Teen Philippines-America. She was the Youth Leader of the 2019 MHC Fil-Am Delegation to the World Youth Assembly at the United Nations. Katherine is also the reigning ISA’s Miss Teen Philippines-America. One of her duties as a title holder is to be the Cultural Ambassadress of Goodwill, representing the Filipino-American community. This past year, she visited various elementary schools in Prince William County to teach kindergartners basic hygiene.

Katherine plans to continue to make service to the community an ongoing priority in her life. She has applied to the LEAD Scholars Academy at the University of Central Florida. She is also planning to volunteer at the UCF Knights Pantry, which provides UCF students free food and other personal necessities.

DWC is pleased to help support Katherine’s future!
