Swing for Life Tournament

The Robbyn Rothman Memorial Swing for Life Golf Tournament, organized by the Dominion Valley Ladies Golf Association, took place at Dominion Valley on September 17, 2020.  This tournament supports ovarian cancer research at the Inova Schar Cancer Institute, a center of excellence for women’s gynecological cancer under the Cancer Moonshot Initiative.

Club member Barbara Garland chairs this event and in the past DWC members have been involved in the planning and have participated in “day of” activities.  A number of our members participated in this year’s open-air event, which Dominion Woman’s Club supported with a $250.00 “hole sponsor” donation. The tournament has raised over $215,000 for ovarian cancer research and education over time and this year’s tournament generated about $9000.

Many women attend the tournament every year to honor their family and friends who have been afflicted with this disease.  DWC is proud to be involved with this worthwhile event.
